Up to main towers, over to western tower, back up and then down the way I came... was going for elevation today. Hazy out. 1 lizard, roadrunner and a couple grasshoppers. Lots of dog hikers, regular hikers and a few crazy bike riders flying down the hill.
That paved steep hill is almost harder down than up; especially on the knees. I did better on the paved hill up than I thot I would. It looks like they finished the road/trail refurbishment all the way to the tower hill where it turns west up to the towers. Very nice and fairly level considering what they had to deal with toward the top.
WATCH 6:50-8:46AM, 5.16 miles, 1380-2149 elevation. 129 avg bpm/154 max. 33% Zone 5 max, 29% Zone 4 anaerobic, 34% Zone 3 aerobic burning 748 calories. Temp 71.5 sunny and 29% humidity (up a tad from the past few days), very little breeze.
PS I won the guess for the opening of the GTTSR via glacierchat. My guess was June 15th and it opened on the 13th. I won beer! |

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled. |
