| no partners | | This was my first peak of three of the day. There were many saddles and cattle trails along the way. At the top I found a registry with just a handful of names. There was also a solar panel on another High Point within about a thousand feet of the summit. I believe it took me about 40 minutes to get to the top from my starting point. It was an enjoyable hike. There was nothing above Class 1 or 2 the entire way.

4x4 required to get to my starting point
From anywhere in Tucson, take I-10 East.
Follow I-10 E to S Houghton Rd in Tucson. Take exit 275 from I-10 E.
Continue on S Houghton Rd. for 6.8 miles.
Turn left on Sahuarita road, continue for 1.3 miles.
Turn right onto dirt road.
This is AZ state trust land and you will need a permit to drive in this area.
continue for 1.63 miles.
Then turn left into the wash.
Find a place to park, allowing other traffic to pass. |
