| no partners | | My son and I took a 6 day out and back hike down South Bass onto the Tonto towards
Boucher (went as far as Sapphire canyon) going in and out of the 'gem' canyons
serpentine, ruby, turquoise, sapphire. We had bad weather most of the time:
with snow and rain, hail, 50+ mph winds, then more snow. Even snow on the Tonto !
Oh well good training for survival I guess. One warm day was enough to enjoy the
water of turquoise. There was water in each canyon. I liked the Bass trail more
than any descent Ive down so far, its remote pretty and easier on the legs.
Thanks to gpsjoe for the gps coords, the Tonto on this section is pretty easy
to follow. |
