met up with linda for the drive to tortilla flat
we set out on a use trail around 0720
checked out fragile arch on the way up to a saddle
a slight drop then after crossing a drainage started up to a ridgeline
several viewpoints along the way, and easy hiking on this part
another drop and the final uphill to geronimo head
we checked out the views again, then took a different route back
first along kind of a plateau, then dropping into a drainage
this was a little brushy with loose rock and a few pools to navigate
made the turn into the main drainage, which was brush free with boulders and slickrock
finally joined the use trail, back to the saddle and down
maybe 50% use trail, 25% easy off trail and 25% in the drainages
this hike has been on my to do list for a few years, and it was nice to get it done
beautiful day for it, too
much appreciation for the invite, linda, in addition to recent hikes of black cross butte and brown's peak
