| no partners | | After hitting up Mt. Union and Mt. Davis, I decided to go up to Spruce Mt. since the trailhead was right down the road. Trail #377 is clearly marked and you will have no troubles finding it and staying on it to the #307 junction taking you to the top. Arrived at the tower in an hour where I enjoyed the 360 degree views from the top. Nice clear day which is unusual for me. Had lunch at the top on the rocks where the squirrels wanted me to share but I wouldn't give up my pizza and skittles. The tower was open to visitors but I didn't go in as for some reason I just wanted to enjoy the wind and views from the rocks. On the way back I came across a horned lizard and then went off the beaten path at the helipad sign just to see if I would run into anything. Nothing encountered and I went back down to the Jeep to finish the hike. Only saw a few hikers on this hike while on the Groom Creek Loop section. Not many hike the Isabella trail for sure. Got to love it. |
