| no partners | | I have been working way too much and needed a break so we decided to go camping up on the rim for some time away. I have been wanting to make it to Bear Canyon Lake to check is out, as I have never been. Just wanted to scout out the area a bit. A ton of people there at the camp areas heading into the lake, and even more @ the lake. Only hiked down to the water and around the west side a bit before the rain started falling again.
When we arrived on the Rim Friday night we tried to hit up Camp Area 9350, but it had a full sign out. Drove around and saw the deer and elk that night and ended up finding an opening in Camp Area 9354 a bit further west on FR300. There was quite a bit of rain off and on and the temps definitely dropped. All was actually nice and peaceful, until the crazy family with 8 kids showed up Saturday evening.
It was actually a nice relaxing time, even with all the people up there. Not a ton of ATV traffic and FR300 was actually tame compared to other weekends. |
