Saturday morning we headed over to the Drew Trail via the Highline. The trail was pretty easy to follow. The storm started moving in just before heading up the Rim. About half way up we got hit with the rain, but it only lasted around 15 minutes. Once on the Rim we sat down for a bit and ate some lunch and discussed the remaining portion of our hike. There were a few geocaches in the area so we decided to hit those as well. After lunch we continued along FR300. Took Aspen Trail 411 to the Geocache, then continued along General Crook Trail to FR300 and the See Canyon TH North. Camped near the TH and FR300 for the night. It was another one of those sleep-less nights with all of the random hootin and hollerin well unto the night. The cars continued to race down the road but it seemed to all subside around 3AM. With little sleep we woke up around 6:30am, packed our gear and started on down See Canyon. It was very green and lush down the canyon, but also very humid. Bugs were driving us crazy! 3 hours and we were back to the car @ the south TH. |
