so I wasn't sure on exactly how to approach Palomino Mountain, so I just started my accent from the North and eventually made my way to the top. The footing gets very loose as you get near the top and thats not to mention the thick brush you'll encounter and have to literally fight your way through and crawl under in some spots. 
You'll get some scrapes and minor cuts, but the effort is well worth it. This hike ROCKS!!
