I popped into the visitor's center, layered up in the sub-freezing weather, and hit the trail at 3:30 pm. Numerous ruins, four inches of snow and ice on buff colored sandstone, and soft afternoon light made for a fun afternoon. After completing the hike, I had time for one more loop before the trail closed at sunset, so off I went. Aside from the couple photographing Hovenweep Castle, I had the place to myself. This place is well off the beaten path, and well worth a visit. |
