| no partners | | Roadside Benchmark (a.k.a. Silly Mountain) has been on my to-do list almost forever and although I'd think about it every time I drove by, I always thought someday!
Well, this morning it was the first thing that came to mind so I figured I finally knock it out. To be honest, the main reason I kept putting it off was the number of times I read about vehicle break-ins at the park in the AJ newspaper. That along with all the signs posted about not leaving valuables in your vehicle as well as knowing of two separate individuals who actually saw their vehicle broken into from up on the trail yet could do nothing to stop it... one time there were even other people in the parking lot who simply turned away... I see nothing! (like Schultz on Hogan's Heroes)
So... with plenty of tools, CB, DVD player, 12V cooler and such in the Jeep along with liability-only insurance, I never felt comfortable taking the gamble. Well I did today, hustling through the hike just to get it done.
While I may have been a bit paranoid about it, since my Cannondale bike was stolen from a locked vehicle I would rather take my chances with rattlesnakes than tweakers seeking loot to pawn.
Almost forgot, one video...

Sorry about the slightly jerky video... I simply can't hold the phone as steady as I can with the Canon camera. |
