Wanted to show my friend the "secret waterfall".
It was flowing good with snow melt.
We then hiked the "horse trail".
Found the Forest Service horses at the end high up in the canyon.
Ended the day out at Roper Lake for sunset.

Haven't done this one in awhile.
Hiked first to the marker, interesting Gila Valley history.
Then I continued on into the eastern canyon.
Hiked up to a rock shelter that I just knew would have something native in or around it.
It did! Several pottery shards at the entrance.
Storms moved in as I made my way back out.
Fun afternoon.

Hiked down to and through Shannon Campground and a bit up the Arcadia Trail.
Relaxed for about an hour at the first hutch with a fire before leaving.
