Started this loop at the north end of Meridian. The first 3.5 miles up to and thru the Pass Mountain saddle far exceeded my expectations. Moderate grade, wide trail, good footing...yeah I expected that but the vista that unfolds on the northeast quarter of the trail makes the trail worth it. The views of the backside (west) of the Goldfield mountains are a treat. I will come back and do a out & back explorer hike rather than the whole loop again. The documented gripes of constant gunfire & too many people are true on the western side of the trail but not at all on the eastern side even on Sunday afternoon. Great hike for beginners looking to get a little more distance under their belt.
