Had trail all to myself. Once I arrived at the trailhead it began to snow lightly. Saw two white tail deer. About a mile before the springs it began to snow heavily for March. Having only brought a lightweight DWR windshirt and capilene I just turned around and head back to the truck. A fun and fast hike.

Gorgeous country! Only saw two other hiker within the first mile or so and then glorious solitude, just me 'n the dog. A nice 9 mile out and back to the cabin and well worth it. Great place and lots to look at down here. You forget you are on Mt. Lemmon as it feels a lot more remote.
Forgot my camera so I used my cell camera.

Got to trailhead at about 11:15 after driving from Tucson. Very easy to find trail. Since it was a Thursday I had the trail all to myself although I get the feeling I probably would've on any day. Beautiful area and the dog thouroughly enjoyed drinking from the springs. Rested at the saddle and heard something heavy walking down the hillside (bear?) :o Anyway I continued a bit further up the trail until It just dissapeared in a rock slide area with a field of ferns. Decided to turn around here since I wanted to try another hike and find a campsite.

Went as far as I could until the trail just disappeared. Heavily over grown after about 1 1/2 or 2 miles. Nice shady hike overall. Huge thunderclouds above and got back before they opened up with rain and hail.

Got hit by a downpour. Beautiful early fall in southern Arizona.

Did a loop of brush Corral/Green MT.. Went down Brush corral and it is fairly good the first mile. Then it becacme a bushwack and is quite overgrown but is surprisingly easy to follow because of well placed cairns and tree markings. I took the "shortcut trail" back up to the Green Mt. one. It's a rather steep climb but a great loop which i plan to do again.

This is a great trail. In the past when I've come here I've always done the section that connects to Molino basin ,well actually the loop which heads toward Chimney rock (because I have always Mt. Biked it). That is the section I intended to do this time but since they have blocked off the old Parking area (where the "lake" was) I drove up to the Bellota gate and I saw trail#15 to the east (the section between Bellota Rd. and Reddington RD). This is definitely one of my most favorite areas in the Reddington area. You feel as if you're so far away from civilization. This is mainly a rolling trail (the part I was on) It's a good hike with a dog because it's not incediably rocky and you have the trail pretty much to yourself. I saw no one and even though the trail was in great shape it looked little used. Saw a couple of deer a few rabbits and a squirrel or two.

Went to the saddle where the signpost is. 3 miles out and 3 miles back. Saw about four groups during hike. This is a really nice hike that isn't too difficult and close by town. A great hike for those of us with dogs. Only one person I saw was without a pooch. A bit rocky on the paws : dog : but nothing too bad.
Water in the pond above the cattle drinking hole.
