Hiked in on a perfect 80 degree day with some friends from the AHOTE meetup group. There was no swimming to be had at the falls, but the water was cold and flowing enough to get drenched under the falls before laying on some warm rocks to get some sun.

I went with the AHOTE Meetup group. There were 5 of us. It was a grueling hike, but well worth it. I used trekking poles and I think it made a huge difference on the steep ups and downs.

We found a perfect camping site on the beach. There was room for 5 of us to set up small tents. This a beautiful spot, too bad the water was still too chilly...there were a couple of great swimming holes.

We went on Saturday and left on Sunday. It took us 4 hours to get down to the canyon...3 hours of walking 1 hour of lunch and rests. One the way back out it took us 3.5 hours with about 45 minutes of breaks.

It actually took us an hour and a half to get down, but it would have taken us an hour had we not stopped to help a fellow hiker who was passing out. We called 911 and gave him water and cooled him off after he puked on us! Fun times....he was ok after a while.

I went with my friend Bobby. We hiked up and down the east side of the river, but couldn't find the large cairn or Trail 67. We crossed the Verde just north of the confluence in some shallow (knee deep) rapids and hiked up the river, we found two large cairns, but they were almost directly across the confluence and there was no trail near them. At one point we couldn't hike any farther north due to a cliff entering the water, so we turned around and went home after spending two hours looking for Trail #67.

I'll take a GPS with me next time, hopefully her GPS location of Trail 67 is correct.

I had the book Hiking Ruins Seldom Seen, which had similar directions as this site, but it wasn't much help either.

I went with my girlfriend Akala, Bob and Nagel.

We hiked this on 12/31/06 at 10:30 pm and then hiked down after we watched all the New Years fireworks shows around The Valley, it was amazing.

This hike took a long time, 9 hours, but we sat at the ruins for about an hour and then explored the cave for a couple of hours. We got to the trailhead at 11am and back to the truck at 8pm.

If you leave the camping spot up river there's a sign that says entering national wilderness or something to that effect. There's a trail there that takes you all the way to the first waterfall. There are a lot of cairns, but in some spots the trail is hard to find, if it looks like it goes up the hill, it probably does. There are some steep climbs and slippery dirt/rocks, but it's easier than bushwacking along the creek.

The ruins were amazing and the cave was awesome as well.

Went with Akala, just took a leisurely stroll and went skinny dipping. We arrived around 4:30 and got back to the truck around 7:30.

We took the south side of the creek, not remembering that the actual trail is on the north side.

I've climbed the initial hill on this trail a couple of times with beginners, this time was the first time I did the whole thing. I started at 5:30 alone and found this hike to be an enjoyable hike. I got back to my truck around at 7:15 exactly, just as it was getting dark and was amazed that I made it so quickly, although I did run for a while at the end.

This was a great hike, there was only maybe one place where we could have jumped in the water, but it didn't look terribly inviting. The rockformations were aweseome. I only saw a couple of boot prints here and there, the trail still doesn't look like it sees too much use. We saw a small frog about 3 inches long the same gray color of some of the rocks, which was a nice treat. Unfortuantely we didn't see the mine, but I'm definitely going to do this trail again in hopes of finding it.

This is a great hike. I try to do it a couple times a week..actually I usually do this once a week than one of the nearby hikes once also.

This was a pretty nice hike, I went with a beginning friend (I'm inermediate) so we had to stop about 3 times going up. I had never actually been to the top so it was a nice little city jaunt. We had originally planned to go somewhere in the Supe's, but my buddy didn't have boots. There were boatloads of people, but the trail's wide so it wasn't a big deal.
