So I did the crosscut the opposite way. From Peralta trail to Terrapin. Wasn't bad, took a little bit to find the trail but for the most part the trail is highly used and easy to follow once you find it. Its a bit past pinyon campground but isn't very obvious just look for another trail zipping off to the right. You cross a dry river bed and then you start to see the cairns and it pretty easy to see them from then on. The rocks aren't a big deal to get buy just have to do a little climbing. You go over two valleys to get to buff springs. After the second valley you will climb up another valley and you will hit Terrapin trail and go right. then follow that to Buff Springs which is clearly marked by a sign. If you have trouble finding trails or have no sense of direction I highly suggest not trying this trail. I went on a day where it was wicked cold 39 degrees out, bit nippy but rarely saw anyone which I love.

Did this to find the weaver's needle crosscut. I went on a blistery cold day (39 degrees) and there was literally NO ONE there. Saw two groups of people and one at the end at Buff Springs. Find the Crosscut right after pinyon camp. Great hike not sure how far it is to the crosscut, like 2 or 3 miles I think.

Caught this after the Weaver's needle crosscut to connect with Bluff Springs, nice little part over a ridge and down into the valley. I saw no one on this trail, it was 39 degrees after all.

Great day hike. I parked at the North McDowell access area. Probably want a 4 wheel drive to get there its a little rough and I didn't see anything but 4 wheel drive cars there. The hike was nice a little shorter. If you want to go a bit longer go past the thumb and down another ravine following the Tom's Thumb trail. I didn't follow it all the way because I ran out of time. Very cool once you get over the ridge, lots of saguaros etc. The caves are fun to explore at the thumb and its fun to see how far up you can get.

This is one for the most breathtaking hikes I have ever been on. It starts at the Lost Dutchman State Park where its a $7 fee to get in. I parked at the siphon draw trailhead parking. Follow the siphon draw up to the awesome canyon pictured in my photo, and then here is where the hard part starts. Finding the trail in the beginning can be hard but once you find the spray painted markers its a breeze. You basically want to follow the canyon up. Its about 1.5 miles I think from the main canyon and you have to climb up boulders and such to get there. Once you get to the top the views are to die for. Totally worth the time. I want to go back soon.

Great way to get away from it all, not busy and good views. Not the best hike if you want something challenging
