I wasn't feeling great in the heat and turned back just short of the saddle. It is a nice hike so I won't mind doing it again soon or next winter.

Started at Lockett Meadow and took the trail to the basin. My GPS showed the 5.69 miles round trip and that felt about right considering the time and breaks. The leaves were all on the ground but this is still a great hike.

Decided to try something new and the triplog on this one sounded good. It didn't dissapoint, what a beautiful creek and canyon hike. I really enjoyed it.

Just a note: the parking is 2.4 miles past Bartlet Dam road on Cave Creek on the left and the trail is across the street on the right.
