I have been on this trail many many times but have never known of the existence of this waterfall. Perfect location to be after the snow falls, when the temperature starts to increase. Will post video and photos soon!

The Garden Grove Trail #392 in the Prescott National Forest is a single-track trail located in the Thumb Butte area of Prescott. Its challenging terrain up “the switchbacks” offers beautiful views of both Thumb Butte and Granite Mountain. The 1.5-mile-long Garden Grove Trail #392 is part of the Prescott Circle Trail and connects to various other PNF trails. On the north side, it starts with Javelina Trail #332, then later joins Miller Creek Trail #367 and the newly created Garden Party Trail #324. On the south side, it connects directly to a four-way intersection with the Thumb Butte Bypass Trail #326 and the Circle Trail Connector #322.

If you want to see what the trail looks like, I've made a stabilized video of the trail on my blog at http://gregruns.com/20....

This trail is actually comprised of Aspen Creek (#48) which is the northern part of the trail, connected to Wolverton (#9415) and East Copper (#260) which is the southern portion of the trail, that links back to SR89.
If you park at the Aspen Creek trail head on Copper Basin Rd, you will have a nice start through the Pines, with a pretty good steep climbs for a few miles, with water bars across the way. You will then get to an intersection with East Copper basin trail. Make a right to go up to Mount Francis, make a left to go down toward SR89 on a very rocky terrain with very few trees and shade.
Bring lots of water in the summer, as there aren't any spots along the way. Take your time climbing from SR89. The terrain is very rocky and fairly steep. Not my favorite terrain, for sure. I would personally not do the East Copper section and just stay in the Aspen Creek area. More trees, better landscape, and a few very cool vistas.

This is my almost daily run. Very cool terrain with a pretty steep and rocky start from the park through the golf course. You will eventually hit trail 321 which will take you to the Thumb Butte trail system and the Prescott Circle Trail.

This is a very cool trail that starts from Copper Basin road. This entire trail is through the forrest with fairly easy terrain all across yet quite a bit of up and down. This is a portion of the Prescott Circle Trail. You can also go across the street from the trail head and get to Wolverton trail.

This is a very cool trail, not far away from downtown. Most of the first part out is uphill so be ready for some leg burning. The views are very nice and this trail is not very well travelled so you will have a lot of solitude there.

What an awesome trail! The first half mile is fairly unshaded but you quickly get into the pines with beautiful views of the mountains all around. The surface is fairly smooth for a Prescott trail but it is most definitely uphill for the first 3 miles. Although it was in the high 80s, the trail felt fine running. I highly recommend this to anyone for either MTBing, Trail running or just hiking.

One of my favorite running trail around town. 9 miles round trip, somewhat technical terrain, a few pretty steep climb. At the end of the summer, the vegetation gets pretty thick in there (for Prescott) and you'll definitely see some russell along the way.
I like starting from the campground on White Spar because of the water fountain there. Combine this with Wolverton Trail across the street and you'll have a solid workout for the day!

I run this trail a lot and if you are looking for a great challenge, you are in for a treat! I usually start from the trail head on White Spar where there is water available for the return. The first 1.5 mi will be in shaded forest with a slight incline. The rest of the trip will be in the open so be sure to carry sunscreen in the summer.
You will start to see Wolverton Mountain about 2 miles into the run. The climb is a little dreadful for a few miles with some portions above 10% grade. The terrain can be a little technical with loose rock, especially during monsoon season.
You will be rewarded for the hard work with beautiful views of mount Union on one side, Thumb Butte and Granite Mountain on the other.

Trail run. Joined Ridgetop Trail from the Thumb Butte Park Trailhead via #316. Jump on #317 at the forks. The trail actually continues to #316 which will loop back to the park. Cool views, relatively flat on #317. #316 is a bit more hilly but still manageable.

$5 at Thumb Butte park without a pass.

First trail run in Arizona coming from Florida. 550ft of climbing with the first .7 miles was a bit brutal but awesome. :o
The rest of the run was gentle up and down on well maintained trail. The GPS track was a bit off course at one point but if you continue going, you'll get back on track. The view of the butte are multiple along the trek. A bit of wildlife if you're lucky too. I'd recommend bringing water in the spring/summer, just in case.
