It was hard to find a hike today due to the rain, but we drove down to greens peak and the storm had let up so we decided we had plenty of time before another storm headed in.

This was a fast hike fairly fast but with awesome views. Walked around the top and took some pictures. We saw a few cute chipmunks at the top they were shy, but I still snapped a few pictures of them. My son was having a blast chinking out the chipmunks and Christina LOVED the view from up here.

Turned out to be a great day even know it rained a lot!

My sister and her family came up to Springerville/Eager area for the 4th of July, They asked me if I could take them on a short hike with a good view. So off we went up water canyon rd just a few miles south of Eagar AZ.

We hiked up to to one of the clearings that overlooks the Round valley area and the burned area of the wallow fire. We snapped a few pics and headed out due to the monsoon storm that was heading in.

We made it back to the truck just as is started to lighting and thunder. It was a nice little hike with a great view.

We just wanted to take Dre for a fun day so he could swim. There is a ton of construction going on at second crossing so you would need to park at third and walk back down to the trail head by the Verde or before second at the paved parking lot and hike in to the start of the water wheel hike.

We arrived at water wheel falls and there was know one there, that did not take long to change. We were invaded by a bunch of family's who had the same idea as us. Dre was happy because of all the kids that he plated with. After he had his fun we headed back and walked the East Verde and did a little exploring.

Had a blast found a nice little spot by the river with no one in sight :)

I grew up in the in Springerville so I could always see this mountain from all over town, but I have never hiked it. So I headed up - 1 since my wife had to work  The hike started off very nice with beautiful aspen trees all over. We met only one person at the start of the hike taking pictures in the aspen trees other than that we had the whole mountain to our self's.

The hike was a steady incline and was great with the thick aspens, and ferns all over :) One of the best views of the day after you leave the thick group of aspen trees and you head into an open clearing before you go into the burned area there is an open grassy meadow. I took a min and stood there and took in the sight, awesome!

Then we headed into the burned area from the wallow fire, this whole area was burned, but the odd part is the trees were burned and the bark had fallen off, but the trees where not black just dead and dried out. I took a photo and I did think in an odd way the trees where beautiful.

On the last flat meadow area before the last incline to the tower we saw a gang of bull Elk heading north that was the only wildlife we saw besides a few birds hanging around.

We made it to the lookout tower, the view was a little hazy due the the San Juan fire to the west. The nats were swarming us all over us, put on lots of bug spray if you are going up! The views are nice and this is a great place to see even with the burned area, the baby aspens are coming in all over. Great day!!!

I have took this hike a long time ago. I do remember the trail used to let you go farther up the arch. Now they have shortened the hike to about 1/2 a mile round trip and it only goes to the base of the arch. Very pretty sight, if you are passing by why not take the short trail!

Well the Family and I decided we wanted to get some fresh mountain air so we headed up to Auger Canyon. The upper canyon was all burnt from the wallow fire but the lower canyon still had lots of pine trees and was mostly green. The game trail hugs the creek and at times the creek seemed to have an okay flow and at time seemed to almost disappear. The birds sang us a song as we walked the trail. I stopped to take pictures of some of the flower blossoms and plants.

We made out way down to the falls and my son was very excited he loves the water! The water flow of the falls was very minimal due to the lack of rainfall in the area, but I can imagine they can get crazy as I saw a bunch of washed up trees at the bottom of the falls. I took some photos of the falls and we sat down and had a snack then headed out to finish the trail.

Great place to go for a nice day hike and DO NOT let the burned area keep you away it is beautiful. Thanks for sharing this place Rick!

We have never been to the Tonto Natural Bridge and a few of my friends said it was a nice place to see so off we went. We first went down the waterfall trail and it was a really short trail with a bunch of steps. The water fall was barley running but was very beautiful. After the waterfall trail decided to head down the pine creek trail and cross under the bridge to the other trail to loop out. The travertine walls of the bridge where amazing. The waterfall on the bridge was barley visible and just looked like diamonds in the sky falling. As we where going to cross the rocks under the bridge Christina slip and slides down the slippery rock, but catchers herself right before she would have went over the edge and into the water. Needless to say we went ahead and went up Anna Mae Trail and out. Watch yourself on those rocks under the bridge. Had a great time next time I think we will take our swimming gear and hit the swimming hole.

We decided to head up to the blue range for a hike and check out some of the area since the wallow fire. There was quite a bit of fire damage made me sad to see it all burned, but the good news is the aspen trees are coming in nicely.

The start of the hike was very green, yellow wild flowers are all along the trail. Be aware there are quite a few fallen trees over the trail, about 20 or so. I also decided to wear shorts for the hike, bad idea. There are a lot of thorn bushes in a few places along the tail so my legs got some scratched up!

Kp creek was beautiful and green, the creek crossings are easy to pass without getting wet. The fire damage was not as bad as I expected on the trail, the only bad parts was the flood damage. There where a lot of birds in the area even saw a nest with an egg in it.

We decided to stop at the valley before the confluence of the two creeks in the flat area to have lunch. It was a nice spot with the small waterfalls going down the creek. It seemed like a good idea at the time then we where going to continue on to the larger 10+ft water fall. Before we where done a storm moved in and it started raining on us we had to pack up and head back without seeing the larger of the falls. :(

The hike back up was a nice little workout my son did awesome he is a trooper. Overall a good hike very green lots of flowers, just surprised we did not see and animals. I would have liked to see this hike before the fire.

The family and I wanted to get out of town for the day so we took up this hike. We parked before the creek and walked across to the trail head. The first thing that caught our eye was the huge canyon walls, for some reason I was enamored by them.

The hiking was fun we took our time and crossed the creek back and forth quite a few times. I climbed the gaging station to play around, but the cable cart was locked up :( Our son was having a blast wading in out out of the pools in the creek.

Surprisingly we did not see much wildlife except for one loan squirrel and a bright red cardinal. The creek is such a beautiful place we enjoyed every turn. There is a cool little cave that the water must have carved out as some is very cool, the water is clear with a greenish blue tint to it. I could hear the water fall just before we made it around the last turn. The waterfall was was awesome. I took my day pack off and we relaxed here for quite some time, had some fun and enjoyed the water.

The hike back was uneventful but I did a cool refection picture in one of the pools. Overall we always have fun when the family and I are hiking together :)

We (the family) decided to check this place out after one of her friends told her how nice it is. We headed in from the Camp Verde side due to the Strawberry rd being closed. The dirt rd was fine. Took the mustang on it and we did not bottom out any time.

The family picked the waterfall trail, we heard that there are a few swimming holes on the way. I put my day pack on and we headed out. The parking lot had about 9 cars in it besides mine own. The trail was nice and easy and right off the bat you could see the greenery, trees, fern, etc. The creek was flowing nicely and you could hear it for most of the trail.

About .5 miles in we found a nice teal colored swimming hold. We all stopped and hopped in the pool for a nice swim our son was having fun sliding down the rocks. After our nice dip in the creek we headed to see the waterfall at the end of the trail. We saw birds, lizards and a nice cactus blossom.

The waterfall was awesome there was some people jumping off the top of it and a few drinking in the cave by the fall. They all had left by the time we packed up and left, but the good thing was that they took all their trash with them.

Overall nice easy trail, but be aware that there is a lot of people heading here like the kids who are off from school.

After researching waterfalls and seeing this gem I had to go see it, being as I live not to far away in show low. I could not believe this waterfall was so close to the places I have been to so many times, Reservation lake, big lake, Mt. Baldy, etc. The drive in was great. My wife and I saw a Mexican grey wolf about halfway into the trip. She has never seen a wolf before, so it was exciting. We saw lots of wildlife such as deer, elk, turkey, and a little chipmunk that seemed to pose for us.

We arrived at the start of the hike and made our way down to the edge of the canyon. WOW, what a sight! With the view of the beautiful creek at the bottom, we made our way closer to the falls. You could hear them roaring and it was one of the best waterfalls I have ever seen in Arizona. I did not have the time to make my way down to the bottom to get that awesome picture I wanted so bad! I will be back. We sat by the falls and enjoyed the sight. I then snapped a quick photo with poor lighting :( I will be back soon to get to the bottom of the creek.

What a great trip for us!

We saw this place on instagram and decided to check it out. There was a nice paved parking lot with bathrooms at the start of the hike. At the beginning of the trail there where picnic tables not far from the creek. I did not see the water wheel on my arrival, but decided we would look for it on the way out. I saw a lot of lizards all over, but no rattle snakes (my wife was happy about that). The creek had a nice flow and the area is fairly green.

The fist thing that caught my eye was Mini Gorge with the waterfall coming down. As we made our way to the top of the gorge my wife made sure to hold my sons hand very tight. I noticed an eye hook for people who like to repel. I think repelling down would be fun and is something I have never had the pleasure of doing. ;)

We made our way up the creek to a spot where the water was flowing down the rock like a mini slide rock. My son tried to slide down it, but the rock was not slick enough. He still enjoyed it!

We finally made our way to the waterfall that runs into a nice pool for swimming. There is a wooden log with steps carved into it. The water was too cold for me to swim in, but maybe I'm just a chicken. My son had fun wading around in the shallow pools. We went to the top of the falls and saw a "no trespassing" sign and a fence at the top. They also painted a 4x6ft portion of the rocks "no trespassing". No being able to continue on, we had a picnic at the waterfall and relaxed for a while.

We packed our stuff up and some trash that others had left and headed back down. Almost back at the beginning of hike, we finally found the old water wheel and took some pictures before heading to the car. Overall a great day for the family!

The parking lot of this trail head was paved and had a bathroom. We entered the trail and opted for the pathway that stayed closest to the creek and right away the area was green. The first waterfall we came upon was small. However, it looked cool coming down the black rock which looked like the face of a gorilla. The rest of the trail was an easy walk and very green. We didn't see much wildlife, just a few spiders and gnats.

Overall the hike was fun and easy. My son really enjoyed it. That's always the best part of any hike :)

The Family and I wanted to check this place out even know we had no precipitation. We took my car so we stopped on the road and walked the river bed. It was full of neat rock formations and clear pools. It was fun to explorer the different pools and stuff.

We will have to come back see the falls running, I bet it would be a spectacular sight!

We decided to head up to this trail after exploring Grand Falls. The only traffic on the road up to the trail was two atv's heading to White Horse Lake. We have had such a poor winter the there was little snow melt so the falls where not running. Maybe will will have to make the trip back after the monsoon rains, but the scenery did not disappoint.

It was getting dark so we headed back and did not get to hike the whole loop :(

I have done this trail quite a few times, but i wanted to show my Wife and son the fire lookout tower. We started the hike from the campground and right away there was rocks to the north of us covered with green moss it looked really bright. We headed across the road and started down the trail.

It had just rained the day before so there was a tiny stream that crossed the trail a few times. My son was having fun climbing on the logs to the right of the trail. we continued on and headed into the burned tree area :(

We headed up hill and made our way to the tower with the nice view of Mt.Baldy. We all injoyed the view for a while before heading back on the trail. This was the 1st hike we all did as a family good times :y:

The family and I (my wife and son 4yo) started this hike on the South Fork side not the Mexican Hay Lake side of the trial which most of the people do. The trail is very easy and starts out paralleling the creek that is on the east of you.The trail has many trees and is luscious in the springtime. There is a small made made waterfall that looks really cool. We didn't see much wildlife this time with the exception of a few birds, we have seen a bear a few times before that. We stopped and had a picnic at one of the few waterhole that has formed. The wallow fire did do some damage to the area you can see some of the burnt trees not even a mile into the hike, but it is still a beautiful area.Overall a great day hike.
