Took a side trip from the end of the trail to the north summit. Enjoyed the Christmas decorated tree while we rested before our trip back down.

Happy Festivus! Zane and I got an early start to avoid the sun delivering the mail. We saw 5 backpackers heading down from 1 overnighter and 2 hikers heading up on our way down. The trail was easy to follow without gps until about 1.5 miles up.

This was Zane’s first time up to the flatiron and it has been a few years for me as well. Hit the trail early to avoid the sun as we hiked to the top.

Recommend 4WD and be ok with pin strips if you have a wider vehicle. Lots of sandy washes and a few deep ruts that need to be taken slowly. This is the driving route I took from the S 91st Ave to the trailhead.

Zane and I saw only a pair of hikers coming down the mountain the entire time we were hiking. Little warm starting at noon from the trailhead but was a good workout with my son.

Enjoyed a good hike on Presidents’ Day with my son Zane. The falls were flowing enough to cool off and relax with few people around . Last time I did this hike was over 20 years ago with Preston Sands!

Arrived at the trailhead with only 3 cars at the trailhead at 8am. The hordes
weren’t seen today and actually had the peak to myself for 20 minutes. Great to do this again after a couple years.

Zane and I enjoyed this hike to the quartz encrusted peak. Zane requested a hard hike and I decided this seemed suitable for a 10 year old with a passion for hiking. We decided to take our husky which was able to hike all of it except the last boulder climb to the white top. The hike was windy and beautiful with no people except the random Japanese tourists hiking via guide to the top.... The hike was as expected up and up and this was our first time to the Sierra Estrellas. The road in from the south was as I read sandy and high clearance 4x4 was engaged.

Woke up at 4am and hiked this trail. What great morning temps. My wife and i made good time on the way up and on the way down ran into Joe Bartels. Good conversation and good times.

Did this Hike with my wife on Saturday. Looked to be pretty good weather until about a mile from the top lighting and rain prevented our ascent. This was the highest peak my wife, Rebekah, has ever climbed. Awesome Fourth of July hike in the White Mountains. Preston i did not see any sasquatch :scared:

My wife and i started this memorial day hike around 5:45am. The temperature was around 73 degrees with no cars in the parking lot. Bonus. On the way back saw several young woman starting to hike the trail in dresses. Happy Memorial Day.

Preston Sands and I met at the trailhead about 10am and proceded up the mountain in what turned out to be a great hike. The temperature was in the mid sixties and just excellent views. Saw a family and a older couple from Canada but like Randall no nude women :lol:
