I tell ya, I've done a ton of research on these mountains and I'm thinking there is some awesome hiking from what I've seen.

From the bus: I am looking west at Eskamelo 4268 elevation in the Sierra de Cantabria or Toloño, specifically, in the south of the province of Álava, although this mountain range shares other peaks with La Rioja. It is a very alpine mountain range, with almost all the peaks culminating in pointed shapes, with aerial ridges and to access most of its peaks, you have to overcome some easy climbing. In addition, it is a mountain range with a marked contrast in vegetation, the northern slope is populated by a dense beech forest, while on the southern slope, a more Mediterranean vegetation predominates, mostly composed of oaks and plants from drier climates.
