Getting ready to go under the International Bridges. I'll have a better picture later in the photoset. The bridge links the twin cities of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, and Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. It is the only vehicular crossing between Ontario and Michigan within a 300-mile distance.
The International Railroad Bridge (Soo Locks Bridge)
Function: Carries railway traffic between Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, and Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, over the St. Marys River.
Engineering: An impressive structure featuring multiple movable spans, including a vertical lift section and a double-leaf bascule (drawbridge) section, allowing ships to pass through the locks below.
