This is just one of those drives you have to do when above average precipitation will bring out the best spring colors. Heck, it's a great drive even without that added bonus! Up the Apache Trail on Saturday, with an overnight stay at Cholla Campground at Roosevelt Lake. Sunday it was some exploring over to Big Oak Flat, before heading up El Oso Road (FR143) to Lone Pine Saddle. From there down FR 143 to the Beeline Highway. After that we headed to Saguaro Lake and the only short hike we did on this trip. Some of the best scenery in Arizona is on this loop. Add the wildflower action and it was just awesome! :y:
