| no partners | | I came over from the south and the now defunct Purtymun trail. I descended but did not ascend this trail. I had to cross a couple of drainages to get to the Thomas Point, and the biggest was the upper end of the Hoel's Wash (Surveyor Canyon). It contains lots of New Mexican Locust, which I hate and think should be eradicated. I like the limestone section of this trail. It reminds me of the Guadalupe Peak Trail in Texas, and there are some great views of the big canyon wall to the west. I think I'll hike up and down this, and it seems like it could be a cool spot to overnight. |
