| partners | | | Picked up Nick, then we were off to the Pinalenos for an after work hike on a rediculously hot afternoon. We headed up the Turkey Flat Trail into the cool pines, then turned uphill on Ladybug. A rattlesnake was displeased with our presence, and let himself be known on the way up. After a pretty good climb (more than I remembered) we topped out on Ladybug Peak just before sunset, where we were greeted by swarms of ladybugs crawling among the rocks. Enjoyed the view, then headed back down, hoping to beat the coming darkness. Got back to The Battleship after dark, put it in low gear, then coasted down the Swift Trail, enjoying a good lightning show over the Gila Mountains. Good times. Thanks Nick! |
