| no partners | | A perfect afternoon in the Pinalenos! I took a very round about hike today to get in some miles. Went up Big Creek Trail, then down High Peak Road #507 to highway 366. Followed the highway south, then went up the Heliograph Peak Road for a short distance, before changing course and dropping straight down to Snow Flat through the trees. Took the little Snow Flat trail down Snow Creek to the overlook rock where the creek enters a box canyon. Returned to the highway via the Snow Flat road, then took the highway back to Upper Hospital Flat Campground where I'd left my truck.
Still plenty of snow drifts on forested north facing slopes, despite temps in the 60's. No flowers yet. Had the trails and the roads entirely to myself, except for the swarms of flies that dive bombed every orifice on my head if I stopped for more than two seconds. Listened to great, freshly downloaded music on the drive down tonight, saw one deer.
