Since there was no set agenda for the day, I just enjoyed my morning coffee and reading. Meanwhile, Julia was sleeping soundly, no doubt subconsciously plotting her next round of Chaos. I gradually broke down camp, trying to be as quiet as possible. More reading, more coffee. Made a breakfast on the stove, but now past 9 AM and still no signs of life from Liz. Finally at about 10 o'clock she was out of her tent. It had truly been a "burn and crash" night! By the time we finally got everything packed up and ready to go hike (around 1130), the backpackers were already on their way to Webb Peak, maybe even there. Nice easy hike up to the old lookout. The backpackers passed us on their way down. Following the hike to Webb, we drove west to the end of the road to do Clark Peak next. |
