First time I did this hike without water. Left the bottle in the car. Not a problem, as on day like this I only use 200-300 ml anyway, and usually don't take my first sip until on top. For a change there were some other hikers out on the trail, enjoying the breezy fine day. Saw a helicopter make several passes near the peak when I was starting out. Suspected it might be related to the building materials left by one of the open mine shafts along the trail that I first noticed several weeks back. I know Saguaro NP West was blocking off many of the dangerous ones in the area. Sure enough, a work crew was busy installing the barricade. On way back I hiked down King Wash for a change of pace and got some pictures of the petroglyphs.
