| no partners | | Hike with my son and his GF to get to the ruin from the canyon floor. I've been wanting to photograph the ruin at night lit with flashlights and a long exposure. Well, the route along the wash was a little more difficult than I expected, and although we were prepared with headlamps, flashlights and a lantern, I didn't feel comfortable hiking out in full darkness. We took some twilight pics and my son got to play with his new hammock, then we headed out.
FYI: Dry Creek Road-FR 152, is closed at the junction with 152c. The wet weather has caused severe road damage with deep drainages and big rocks. A high clearance 4x4 would be needed for it now. I don't know when the FS will attempt to repair it, or if they ever will, now that they can't collect Red Rock fees in that area since there are no improvements out there (picnic tables, toilets, etc.) that the court ruled necessary for fee collection. Plan on walking all the way in for any of the hikes in this area--Secret Mountain, Brins Mesa, Devils Bridge, etc. |
