finally hooked up with cactus cat after a six month discussion
went up to spur cross, taking that trail to metate with a side trip on towhee
then FS48 to the corral and on to the intersection with trail #247
enjoyed the area - the views, saguaros, stream crossings, and partially shaded trail
surprised a hawk on the trail, who flew off right after he bit the head off a gopher snake, leaving the rest of it to writhe for some time
didn't take a photo of that - cactuscat spotted the snake remnants
nature can be gruesome
surprisingly cool out
look forward to exploring more of this area
