| no partners | | My son and I went to check out a small section of the Arizona Trail today. On the AZT site it's listed as 28b which goes from Rock Crossing Campground up to the 87 highway.
It's a beautiful area over very easy terrain. Not too much in the way of wildlife today. We were satisfied with a couple of horny toads & squirrels and lots of gorgeous butterflies.
The trip was pretty uneventful except for some poor trail following on our part. When we reached the Blue Ridge Campground, the trail is supposed to continue on until it crosses Highway 87. Somehow, without our realizing it, we ended up going back the way we came from this point. We were going to do an in and back journey anyway, we were just very surprised when we realized we weren't headed in the direction that we thought we were. I think it had something to do with not following the horse loop when we should have? I'm really not too sure at this point how we ended up where we did but it was a beautiful day for a hike and we had a fantastic time. |
