| no partners | | Sister asked what to do if we hung out Wednesday night. I mentioned the full moon so we narrowed it down to fishing or a hike along water. I still have fish in the freezer not used from my last fry so we took the feet option.
We drove out and began hiking at 9:45 in the moonlight.
When not under tree cover, you could see fine with just the moon. We putted around on the trail and then off sometimes in the creek trying to rustle up critters. We stopped below Ashdale and hiked up to it to spook ourselves in the old building.
I usually make a little noise when poking around structures after our run-in with a highway hobo in Two Guns. A small bird scared the peewadle out of Dana flapping and bumping around on the ceiling and a very large bird tried to land on my face as I entered and it tried to exit one of the smaller buildings.
We headed back the same way in the creek then drove out stopping at the Sears-Kay ruins.
A very cool very bark looking Poorwill landed in the path and let us get a foot from him. Very pretty.
We took a few quick pics at the top and then before putting the camera away I took a few of Dana with the horizon far off. I set the timer and joined her for one and as we were standing still as can be the wind did something unexpected and pretty jerky but I don't want to talk about it. (see last photo)
It was a good time. Got home at 3:00am |
