I knew it was going to rain on me. Figured I may as well test out the new packable jacket, not that I don't love my poncho dress.
It drizzled on and off on the way in. Found a dead car and a dead horse in Blue and the American flag on the S ridge. Rain set in pretty heavy after a few minutes at the falls. Opted for a ridge hike out (which put me closer to the wind driven rain) following a stock trail then made my own closer to the powerlines to get me back to the vehicle.
Drove down towards Horseshoe, then set out on foot in the wash that leads by St Clair Spring to s'plore a little. Wanted to find the concrete structure seen on the aerial. Found it. Just a tank. Found part of an old structure rock wall and a game camera. Round trip 2.1 on that.
Didn't get wet under the jacket at all. |
