| no partners | | This is my first trip log so bare with me. My first time on the west fork trail and it was busy. Got to the trailhead around 8:45 and the lot was almost full. At first I wasn't sure if there would be much color with the fall foliage, but after a little bit down the trail the colors were really popping. Really bright reds, pinks, oranges, yellows, and neon green/yellow. Some trees still have yet to turn but for the most part the colors were worth the solo trip. Everybody on the trail was very friendly which was nice and kept me in good spirits. The water wasn't too bad, but standing in it long enough got the feet a bit numb. Walked a little ways into the "subway" area to check it out. Will definitely have to return at some point. Really harsh light didn't help with the photos. I would recommend a trip up there if you want to see some real color. I'd say by the end of october the leaves will just be a carpet on the ground. Will try to get some photos up as I go through them. |
