| no partners | | Always looking for a diversion from the usual routine, we'd been eying the western ridge of Peralta Canyon for a while, trying to determine a good spot to climb up as near to the trailhead as possible. There's a pool below and to the west of the Peralta Trail 1/4 mile in and we decided to start up from there.
It was a fairly steep climb, but nothing too hairy, and there was a lot of bushwack (not fun in shorts). When we reached the top (more or less), we headed back south around the front of the cliffs. There were some very cool rock formations up there and it was interesting to see familiar things from a very different perspective... especially looking across the canyon at Geronimo's Cave below us! I would have liked more time to explore. |
