| no partners | | This has been on my list for a long time. The length of this one let me actually sleep in on a Saturday. 110 miles to the TH, the last 18 of which will take you 1 hour plus.
The Road is in great shape after the grading in the last couple of weeks. I saw a passenger car as far as the 3 point turn (.5 miles short of the end). There was also a 10 person Passenger Van, (Boy Scout Shuttle) at the TH.
I made decent time to the Ruins and passed 20 + people on the way down. The majority of which were Boys Scouts Camping overnight Friday.
Trail work on the AZT portion of this trail in recent weeks, had it looking like a super Highway. Wide, Smooth, and clear of sharp stuff. After this is gets a little tight, but that's only in comparison to the Highway you just left.
There are sections that the trail splits off and goes in different directions. Not to worry, if you are in the drainage, you are not getting lost.
I finally spotted the ruins and made the short climb to get to the lower and then the upper section. The nice thing about starting a hike like this late, is that I had the entire ruins to myself. The Ruins are pretty well preserved, but still, Friggin Yahooo's have carved into the 600 year old wood supports... Really, is that really necessary?
Anyway... I was in awe of the view these people had.
Does anyone know what the lower South room (the one that appears to be sealed up) is. I took some flash photos through some of the holes, but it just seemed to be a sealed blackened room? |

Rogers Creek however, was gently flowing with plenty of clear water in this location, and for a majority of the distance from Roger TH and the Ruins | | _____________________
