| no partners | | Did this hike with my husband and our friend. Started around 7:15am, husband and I reached the summit around noon...though our friend got there about 25 minutes ahead of us. I found the hike to be pretty challenging, but not so bad on the way up. Coming down was tough on my knees and I had to take it pretty slow...if you have bad knees I highly recommend some trekking poles! My heavy camera was definitely weighing me down...but I have to get the photos.
It was a beautiful day, though the wind was pretty intense, gradually getting stronger after the saddle. Maybe 60mph? I had to stay low to the ground as I neared the summit so I wouldn't fall over. Met a nice guy who had the cutest dog...she was really enjoying the wind in her face.  Took a cool picture of them, should have gotten his name so I could get it to him. Some dogs I saw seemed to be struggling a little more.
There were a lot of people on the trail. On the way back, the trail through the woods seemed endless...I guess I was spoiled by the expansive views above the treeline. We did see some pretty purple flowers and yellow flowers along the trail. |
