Hippy
After parking at the trailhead the evening before (in the middle of a monsoon :y: ) and getting a solid five hours of sleep  ; we headed for the trail.

I could lie here and tell you that I was not a little spooked by the complete darkness and normal sounds of the thick forest, but that would be a lie. 4AM is a eerie time to be out there, but none the less it made for some entertainment watching HippyHaley jump back in a panic when a tree limb broke off in the darkness 8-[ .

After a few miles and an hour and half the sun began to meet the horizon and paint the sky. The shades of pink, purple and blue were visible through the trees for a short time. Soon after the light exposed the forest the wind and clouds were beginning to race across our heads.

The winds were fast and the air crisp as we made way to the ridge. There we took a short post breakfast break and set our sights for the summit it front of us, or so we thought. : rambo : With each summit/hill we conquered another taller one appeared on the horizon.

The wind was so intense from both sides, that we were often blown to one side only to be tossed back the other direction. Finally after making several summits and checking the Garmin elevation a billion times :worthy: we made it. At the summit I waited with hopes that some how the clouds would part and reveal the landscape just long enough for a shot, but not today.

Things I learned about this trip:
-Don't underestimate the wind.
-Dogs are great for this hike but bring warm clothes for them.
-Layering with moisture wicking clothing is the only way.
-Get a full nights sleep before the climb to avoid post summit headaches. ](*,)

I have no use for this but this is hilarious :next: :wlift:
