| no partners | | I just moved to Henderson, NV last week for graduate school and decided to check out the surrounding area. We had to get out of the heat so we went up to Mt. Charleston, about an hour away. It must be a very popular trail for locals because it was PACKED with people. There were a lot of children and dogs on the trail. The trail itself starts as a bunch of switchbacks. It's about 1.5 miles there (3 miles roundtrip), so a pretty quick hike. It's not a difficult trail (rated a 1 out of 5 on some websites I've seen) but it starts at about 7000 ft elevation and it was a hot summer day so it was little more difficult than I anticipated. I'm sure the falls flow a bit more in the Spring with the snow melt, but I was impressed with the amount of water falling. I've been spoiled living in AZ my whole life, but I'm looking forward to some new terrain! More NV hikes to come! |
