I was so happy to be back in AZ over the Labor Day weekend, and even happier to be camping with my man and his family. It was a quick visit, but much-needed. His family camps at Happy Jack every other weekend and they claim this was the busiest they have seen it all year. Lots of big groups and even bigger trailers. We took 7 others with us on the Tramway trail. Tramway is one of our favorite trails in WCC, and it did not disappoint this trip. It is so lush and green right now and makes for beautiful AZ jungle pictures. We saw PLENTY of people along the trail, but didn't find any trash to pack out! It is always reassuring when you're on a popular trail and it is free of trash! We left half the group about halfway (they were not wearing the proper footwear for all the trekking through water we like to do) and continued to a gorgeous spring. There were several camps set up along the hike. I almost feel bad for them because of all the traffic, but I'm sure they were enjoying being so close to the creek! I could spend all day by the creek enjoying the scenery (especially because I always dread the hike back up- but fortunately it is short and goes quick). The ATV ride back to camp is always enjoyable and even better when we know there is a big feast waiting for us! We love WCC and I'm sure we will be back again soon. Next on our list is the Hanging Gardens (we made it about halfway to the hanging gardens last October, but the water was FREEZING and there was a storm rolling in so we had to turn back).
