| no partners | | Woohoo!!! My mechanic hubby got the buggy fixed. Rebuilt rear differential after destroying it on Labor day weekend, then tore down and modified the front differential so it wouldn't blow apart the way the rear one did. Good thing too, he said, because the front one had the same problem the rear one did. Just hadn't gone belly up yet. For good measure, he rebuilt the steering box and replaced upper ball joints too.
Anyway - he finished it up by around 11, by 12:45 we were outta there. Packed a lunch/dinner, Iced tea, water and a few adult beverages, and headed up Putnam wash. This was just a trip to make sure the repairs would hold, to just get back out there, and any other excuse we could dream up (do we really need one???).
Wildlife we saw: Red tailed hawks, Harris Hawks, black tailed jackrabbits, cottontail rabbits, Gambel's quail, Gila woodpeckers, countless lizards I couldn't identify. Then we ran into a friend of ours at Putnam Springs on the way back, and just sat and visited with him for a bit before going on home. Beautiful ride, good relaxing time and the buggy's in great shape. |
