He didn't complain one bit on the way up although the down part he said his knee was bothering him. Bruno was our pace setter and he set a moderate pace. We were at the cabin in 2 hours with a couple of short breaks. We left our house at 3am and we were hiking by around 630am. We made several stops along the way to pick up various things we had forgotten(like Bruno's dog food).
Once we hit the dirt roads, there were so many elk we couldn't count them all if we tried. The timing was just about perfect although a few raindrops did penetrate the forest canopy. We finished our trip with lunch at the park. 8 pieces of chicken .75pd of potatoe wedges and these new awesome doritos. I carried 7 quarts of water...6 for Bruno. Bruno was sporting his new pack that Joel dropped off yesterday. He carried 2 16oz waters and a few of his snacks. Great day The whole area had recently received rain and there was standing water on the roads and on the trail....and the best part was it was very aromatic as we spread our own fragrance in the forest. |
