Fantastic hike with my 17 year old son. This was part of his graduation trip, next month is deep sea fishing for tuna :)

The day was cool, overcast and breezy, perfect hiking conditions. At the fire tower, we met Chris the fire look out, he was a cool cat. I was targeting an uncommon species of bird too, the Clark's Nutcracker which only resides above 8,500 ft. I saw a flock of them on the top, of course it was blowing 30+, but I was able to snap a few photos :y:

This trail was impeccable, flat and despite the Pumpkin fire; beautiful. In fact, the ferns in spots were really thriving.
