Ah Breakfast was great but it is time for Lunch Kendrick style. Now my blood is pumping and I am getting excited about the day as the weather is just perfect. Low 80's and clear as can be.

I hit Kendrick Trailhead at 11:45 after driving down several well graded Forest Roads to get here from Williams. Car looks like Pigpen and is covered it reddish brown dirt. All systems are a go! I started off strong and started working my way up the long switchbacks. How very different then Bill Williams Trail. Should have put on some sun screen as there was not much tree cover. Looks like the Fire really took its toll.

As I got closer to the top I could see the Fire Lookout up top. Don from BW told me to tell "Bruce" hello. Nearing the summit I came across the old Cabin where the Fire Rangers use to stay. The door was open and it was really cool to see. I hit the Tower at 1:10 and sure enough there was Bruce the Ranger to great me. Well actually his dog Hudson came down the stairs and welcomed me up.

It was hazy out but Bruce was kind enough to point out everything off in the distance. Bill Williams Mountain, Elden, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon to name a few. I spent about 10 minutes up there or so and it was time to go. In reality I could have stayed for days if it weren't for "my reality".

Up top I did notice the Aspens coming up where there was fire damage which is really cool to see nature taking its course.

As I headed down I could see some snow still up on the North side of Humphreys. I hit the car at 2:25. It is far too early for Dinner so what to do? Afternoon snack maybe? Red Mountain is just up the road about 15 miles so that sounds great as it is just a short trail.
