I haven't found the cave but I think I'm close. First of all the posted directions are wrong. I think they should read:

- Head up from Carney Spring to the saddle.
- Follow the well traveled, well cairned route east (right)
- You'll come to a large dead tree in the creekbed. There are cairns to the NE and SE
-- The cairns to the NE mark the trail to Fremont Saddle
-- The cairns to the SE mark the trail to the Chiminaya (see photos) and to the cave
N33 24 36.4 W111 22 07.1

- When you top out, you will be looking at the side of the Chiminaya. The opening will be visible once you head southeast across the flat spot and then look back to the north.
N33 24 35.6 W111 21 56.9

- Once at the Chiminaya, don't head north but head southeast a couple of hundred feet until you near a rock formation similar in outline to the Chiminaya but much smaller. (It has a yellow growth on it (not green).
- Head south across a generally flat area following occasional cairns.
- You'll reach the edge of a cliff that overlooks the junction of Peralta trail road and Carney Spring road.
N33 24 26.3 W111 21 45.9

- The view from here matches the view out of the cave.
- There are a number of cairns in this area

My current guess is that the cave is in the lower area just north of here.

I was alone on this trip and the 20 foot climb down wasn't something I was comfortable doing on my own. Once I got home, I noticed a small cairn in this lower area in one of my photos. The lower area has some large trees which are similar to those in the photos.

BTW: If you head north from the Chiminaya, after some light bushwacking you'll pick up the cairns of the trail headed east and then north down to Freemont Saddle. Near:
