After I reached the large rock at the saddle the trail split and I was so impressed with the scenery that I never looked at the GPS and just started to follow the Cairns. There are as I found out several different ways marked by many different sets of Cairns. I had to backtrack a few times. Finally made it to the Roost and had some lunch and a break. It took me a little longer than expected because of the route finding and the pictures (about 100). All in all it was a great hike and will definitely do it again.
Peralta TH was a mad house, very busy with all parking lots full. They even had a water truck running back and forth to try and keep the dust under control.
