| partners | | I never knew why Phoenix folks suggest the White Tanks so often, but Pam picked a great hike to finish off the week. I need to get back and check out the geology, because I saw a lot of things I didn't really expect in the Phoenix area. The same is true of fauna. If I blow it up big enough, one of my pictures should have a lovebird in it. I couldn't catch the hummingbird, though. It was all over the place in no time, except in front of my lens. I hadn't expected to find what looked like sheep tracks in some high spots above the trail.
We had a couple excellent rest stops in the cool shade, especially in the hidden oasis of Willow Spring. The only problem with this hike is that the miles aren't created equal. The last couple are twice as long as the first ones. |
