As it was not the original set mountain for the day, a late start and the original target too far away for my comfort Spring Mt. just looked like a great target. She didn't disappoint either as she provided me with a great steep and loose slope to navigate and put my scrambling skills to the test as I had to find the right path of rock that didn't want to crumble out from beneath me. Pretty much traversing the mountain from NE to SW I found the best path of travel and made it on top. Being the 7th person to sign in since 1988 had me pretty stoked and enjoying the summit brew while looking around at the range just put me in total peace. The overcast day was great, making for a light rain shower on me at just one time actually cooled me off as it was feeling warm while going up this steep girl. I picked a different route down as I felt it would be better and got to do some good scree surfing and saw the desert floor get close to me pretty fast as coming down this mountain took no time at all. Just another great trek in some isolated mountains, cannot beat that. |
