Once on top we headed off along the ridgeline towards Carney Spring TH. The snow on top was great and views just as impressive! There were several times the route went through snow and a couple of the rock scrambles were made interesting with snow and ice to negotiate. We had lunch near Superstition Mountain summit with great views of Weaver's Needle and the rest of the Supes.
After lunch we continued past the high point 5057 and eventually down off the ridge into a drainage. With all the snow there was plenty of water with nice pools and flat spots if one was to backpack into this area. After leaving the drainages we popped up on a saddle where we could see the TH. From there it's a short but very steep drop of 1.8 miles (according to the sign) to the Carney Springs TH. Great trip with all the snow |
