| partners | | We started at the 128th Street Tom's Thumb Trailhead. We followed the Marcus Landslide Trail. There were lots of people from little kids to the elderly. When we arrived at the Marcus Landslide One Mile Loop, there was a tour group of about 30 people just finishing up. We felt like tourists, but since we were there, we "had" to do the loop. There were lots of signs and descriptions along the route.
We headed out on the Boulder Trail, but it wasn't signed, there were many signs saying "This Way to Pemberton." When we hit Pemberton, we realized there was a bike race going on. The "Fat Tire 40." We took Pemberton to the Coachwhip Trail. This is when the wild flowers really made their appearance. While snapping pictures, I screamed at my first snake of the season. It wasn't a rattler, but it was still being creepy.
We took Coachwhip to Windmill trail. The Cottonwood at the windmill is that vibrant green right now. And then we hit the East End Trail, and there is nowhere to go but up. We hadn't seen any other people since we left Coachwhip, but as soon as we were nearing the Tom's Thumb Trail intersection, there they all were. We headed down Tom's Thumb and completed the loop. |
