| partners | | If yesterday wasn't enough, today definitely put me to rest. There's nothing better than early spring in the Mazzies and today didn't disappoint. This loop should be named the "big pumpkin waterfalls loop" because that's what you get  .
Half Moon was the only section of this hike I hadn't done before and it wasn't as overgrown as I had expected. The bushwacking was pretty minimal. Route finding up Rock Creek was pretty easy, too, for the most part-- well, maybe cuz we just left that up to 9L. Rock Creek is just as steep as I remembered it, though.
We checked out the falls at N. Fork of Deadman's Cyn and there was actually another group there eating lunch. That was a surprise. They were one of only two groups we saw all day. Apparently some folks had repelled down the waterfall earlier though. I hope they went back for the rope they left at the top. If you can't pack it out-- then you shouldn't pack it in.
It was an awesome day and that is one heck of a hike! |
